These public terms summarize the live service boundary for HermitTaxDE. They are intended to explain what the app does, how billing works, and what remains the merchant's responsibility when using the product.

1. Service scope

HermitTaxDE is a Shopify app for tax-aware invoice workflows, DATEV export generation, and related merchant and accountant handoff tooling. It is a workflow tool and not a full accounting platform.

2. Billing and plans

HermitTaxDE uses Shopify's app billing flow for paid subscriptions. The publicly described plan structure includes an Entry plan, a Professional plan, and an Agency plan. Paid plans may include a Shopify-managed free trial before billing begins. Subscription management and cancellation are handled through Shopify.

3. Merchant responsibilities

The merchant is responsible for entering accurate company, tax, banking, and invoice configuration data, confirming account mapping and statutory treatment with a qualified tax advisor, and reviewing final filings and legal obligations. The app helps automate the workflow but does not transfer legal responsibility for filings to Kedalion or HermitTaxDE.

4. Tax advice disclaimer

HermitTaxDE is not legal or tax advice. Merchants should consult a licensed tax advisor for edge cases, jurisdiction-specific questions, reverse-charge treatment, and final bookkeeping or filing decisions.

5. Data and retention boundary

Invoice records, export history, and related data may be retained as required by applicable German retention obligations. Privacy-specific details are described on the privacy notice.

6. Availability and support

Support materials are published under the HermitTaxDE app site, including the setup guide, FAQ, accountant guide, and support page. Direct support requests can be sent to hello@kedalion.app.

7. Suspension and termination

Access to the service may be limited or terminated if the Shopify subscription ends, the app is uninstalled, or service access must be restricted for security, abuse, or operational reasons. Merchants remain responsible for downloading or preserving records they need for their own recordkeeping workflow.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, HermitTaxDE is provided as a software workflow service and does not guarantee that it is suitable for every merchant-specific accounting scenario without human review. Liability should be interpreted consistently with the app's role as a workflow aid rather than a substitute for professional accounting judgment.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kedalion's aggregate liability arising out of or relating to HermitTaxDE will not exceed the amount the merchant paid for the app during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
